Methodworks Production is founded on a strong ideology, identity and vision.

Whilst our service provision may be similar to any other production company,

our execution and belief system is rather unique.

It's important to celebrate the journey you've come on, for without it, you would not be where you are today. Methodworks was not only created on an idea of better service but also a lifelong passion of improvement through great communication.

The succinct story of our inception follows...

Following five years at college, Andrew began visualizing the company whilst studying a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Production

at University.

He understood the importance of organization and communication in both the creative and business processes and through freelance work, often noticed how companies were missing these important yet fundamental elements by simply not having the aligned methods and systems in place both internally and externally to the business.

He also noticed that a lot of established companies had lost sight of their own original purpose, what once made them unique, they'd lost their own vision. This sparked the birth of the Method.

Initially studying all of the Sciences at college,  Andrew David, the Executive Creative Director of Methodworks Production, made a radical decision to drop out to reconsider his life's journey.

He returned a year later and took Media Studies to embark on a path towards film production, believing that visual communication is a powerful tool that will continue to grow and expand.

The name and phrase of Methodworks was coined at the turn of the century as a guise for a project he was working on as part of his coursework. There was yet an indication of something bigger on the horizon yet the process of creating the name (which was more than just a name) was fundamental in seeding what would later become a deep philosophy.

Andrew went on to run the Student Union at his college for several years following his A-Levels, as a Sabbatical President, which would become a vital experience in setting up and managing a business in later life.

Continuing his studies with a Masters in Real Time Media Broadcasting, following his graduation, Andrew returned to London at the beginning of the Great Recession, a time when media and marketing companies in particular were struggling and not seeking new graduates.

Andrew found a job in media research and so began building the foundations of the business whilst maintaining a full-time job.

He borrowed money from a friend to purchase a professional broadcast camera, and from his bedroom with nothing more than a laptop and the Internet, he began freelancing and building the companies systems, drafting documents and creating a portfolio of work in the evenings and at weekends. The economic crisis was not going to deter him.

As the philosophy began forming, branding became essential to identify the independent films Andrew was producing at University.

The first logo, incorporating the name of the company, was to look like handwritten chalk on a chalkboard, with the joining of the
M and W to represent the flow of energy or the journey of a production.

Andrew had yet given the thought to running his own production company, he was simply enjoying the creative process of each film project.

Upon completion of his first degree in the summer of 2006, Andrew's father registered the company name Methodworks Production as a Limited company as a gift to his success, which became a catalyst for what was about to occur....

The breadth of experience this offered was coupled with travel, with Methodworks serving the U.K. as far as Scotland, going international in Europe (The Netherlands and Germany) and as far afield as North America.

The final stage in setting up the business, in Andrew's view, was officially launching our marketing and website, not only presenting and communicating the Methodworks brand uniformly, but also being very clear on our offer, understanding the needs of you, our clients, and the journeys you are embarked upon.

This was achieved in early 2020.

From a single thought, energy had accumulated through action and risks, sacrifices and essential experiences and most importantly faith and desire to be, do and have freedom to explore and create.

Methodworks Production was established as an active Limited company in January of 2012. The company gradually and methodically built momentum as the Method was tested and perfected. The spark had ignited into a flame with the rocket of desire journeying into new and unknown territory offering growth and learning opportunities.

The first website was also launched, yet there was still a mountain of tasks ahead before the business, in his eyes, was officially launched.

By early 2016, having grossly outgrown it's humble welcome beginnings in Andrew's bedroom, Methodworks moved into it's first office, an official base of operations.

The hardest thing for an independent, is growing a business whilst doing the business.

Now working with a core bench of freelancers by his side, the core systems of the business were established, however the marketing needed a lot of work.

Having survived the initial three year window, when apparently most businesses fail,

Methodworks marketing evolved and the website was updated along with the branding,  to become clearer of our philosophy, yet it was still a distance from what it is today.

By 2011, Andrew was spending more time developing the infrastructure and systems for the business having gone part-time at the office job. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he took a leap of faith and left work forever, to make his dream become a reality and to finally, albeit unofficially, launched the business. A long journey for this independent was ahead.

12 years after the first real step

and 8 years of official trading,

we finally made it!

By 2019, Methodworks had not only reached it's 250th unique client, it had produced more than 1,000 videos ranging from small promotional videos for SME's to training videos for global companies, promo videos for FTSE 100's, short films for festivals, charity videos to raise awareness of vital causes and television commercials.

Methodworks has a strong vision for it's growth and purpose and we are only at the beginning of our journey having just officially launched.

Expanding further to reach larger audiences is our primary aim through commercial,
broadcast and feature film formats.

We will build long term relationships with collaborators and team alike,

nurturing and prospering together.

We will create finer definitions between the landscapes we offer our services to

and have wider coverage across the U.K. by establishing more bases.

We have an even grander vision of setting up the Methodworks Academy, a long term goal whereby we fund and train future filmmakers and video producers in the art and science of what we now call
The Method.
